Make a blend

This tutorial will show you how to make a with Paint Shop Pro. But this actually can work with Photoshop... I believe...

- First, choose as many pictures as you want. Try not to have too much to start. I did my first blend with 3 pictures. For this one, I chose 4 nice Lance pictures. Pictures don't have to have the same background. Open your 4 pictures and an empty image in which you'll put your cut out images. Make that empty image really big so you have enough place to put everything.

- Now, select the Lasso tool.

- Then, cut out your pictures. (A little tip : select the whole body of the person and then, use Ctrl. When you hold Ctrl, whatever you select with the lasso will be taken off your biggest selection. This way, you just take off the things you don't want and you don't have to do the whole body and end up with a finger ache *lol*) When you have selected everything you wanted, copy this and go to your empty image. There, paste your cut out as a new layer.

- You do this with all your images and then you're supposed to have your white background with 4 layers (well, 3 if you have 3 images, etc...)

- Then, play around with your layers and put the pictures where you want them. If your image is too big (like mine was) resize it so it's a good size (if you plan on putting this on your website, don't make it too big, people won't like it) Then, merge the layers OF YOUR 4 PICTURES ONLY. This is really important. We'll have to change the background and if you merge with the background too, it won't work. You can also not merge the layers. If you do not merge the layers, you'll be able to do different things with you pictures, which can be pretty fun. (like colorize one picture blue, the other yellow, etc... you can't do this if you merge the layers)

- Now is the time to change your background. Since my pictures were on a pink background first and that there's still some pink on the borders of my pictures (if that happens to you, don't panic! Even if there are some borders, we'll mess around a little later and you'll see it doesn't show in the end), I wanted to chose something that had some pink or red. What I did is really easy. You select the flood fill tool. In the options of that tool, you can select something really incredible. You can choose to make a gradient. Check those gradients and you'll find really cool ones. As you can see, I tried some before finding the right one.

- I finally decided to choose that gradient. It's pink and red. And I chose something even more cool. Still in the flood fill options, you can select textures. Here, I used the denim texture. Next will be the funniest part. It's the time to mess around! You can add some blur, play with the contrast and luminosity, mess around with brushes... Go on! Play! Use your imagination!

- Here's my result! I messed around a lot to get this. I tried a lot of things (like colorizing Lance in blue but it ended up being really ugly *lol* Hopefully, there's the "back" button!) As you can see, the pink borders on the pictures almost don't show! I did scan lines, I played with the contrast and luminosity, I used a grid effect, I used brushes... the possibilities are incredible! I could've made the pictures in the back blurry and the one in the front really clear. I could've colorized them different colours. I could've used other brushes... for example, swirls would've made it more classy, grunge more serious... but I felt like a teenybopper and today we're February 13, tomorrow's Valentine's day so I felt like doing this *lol* Hope this was useful!
